This piece is in Neptune Marina, next to the entrance to Coffee Link. It is made from white copper tubing in the form of a ripple, suspended from the soffit. Four pre-programmed coloured spotlights illuminate the sculpture at night time, slowly changing colour throughout the evening.

Jo Fairfax has said that his ideas are developed in response to the specific project - therefore his ideas could result in almost anything. Everything can be an influence to him, it might be a fish or music or a conversation or starlings or robotic surveillance.

RippleFairfax graduated in 1979 and went on to work on gallery based sculpture. In 1996 he trained in Holography at the Royal College of Art and subsequently moved into the Public Art arena, making Holograms within glass, public sculptures, urban design, illuminating buildings and making films and animations. He has recently received a NESTA Fellowship.
