Crown Pools – competition pool open

The pool had been closed for refurbishment for most of this year during phase 2 of a £3.5 million programme of improvements. The leisure and teaching pools were completed at the beginning of the year.

The Council extended public use at Fore Street pool during the restoration and these extra swimming times will continue.

Councillor Bryony Rudkin, Culture & Leisure portfolio-holder, said: "We are pleased to announce the re-opening of the competition pool and I think you will all agree we now have a pools complex to be really proud of. This has been an extensive refurbishment operation to bring Crown Pools back to its best and I would like to thank all our customers for their patience."

The Council is planning a free open day at Crown Pools on Sunday 2nd September.
