Published Monday 19th November 2012

Ipswich Borough Council is asking people to give their views on CCTV - does it make communities safer, help prevent crime, or is it an intrusion into people's privacy?

CCTV was introduced into Ipswich town centre in 1994. Cameras are monitored from the Emergency Services Centre, which is based in Ipswich Borough Council's headquarters, Grafton House.

The Community Safety team at Ipswich Borough Council would like to know what you think about CCTV, the value you place on it and your beliefs about the system.

To air your views regarding CCTV please take five minutes to complete this short questionnaire:

Alternatively you can send your views to:

15-17 Russell Road

Your answers will be treated in confidence and will be taken into account in the decisions the Council make about future developments of CCTV and its usage.

This survey will close on January 31st 2013.
