Christmas In Ipswich
Published Friday 30th November 2012
Have you seen the new Christmas tree on the Cornhill yet? Love it or loathe it, Ipswich’s festive decorations are making the news in a national newspaper.
The tree - and the new Christmas lights - give Ipswich a festive feel. And the mix of big stores and fantastic independents make Ipswich town centre the place to head for to get all those bargain buys and special presents. Oh, and the town boasts some of the best entertainment and restaurants in the region.
Ipswich Borough Council has slashed prices in its Crown car park - ideal for the shops, Crown Pools and the Museum - to just £1 per hour for up to five hours. And the new Regent car park is open at the bottom of Woodbridge Road - with the same tariff for up to three hours.
Ipswich also enjoys free park and ride services on Sundays and Thursday late night shopping evenings in the run up to Christmas.
Looking ahead, Fore Street hosts a festive market on 9th December.
Disabled (Blue) badge-holders can drive through the town centre on the 9th and 16th December to enjoy the lights between 7pm and 9pm.
