Profiles offers flexible gym deals

Profiles, run by the Borough Council, has four facilities in Ipswich - at Crown Pools and Gainsborough, Northgate and Whitton sports centres.

Profiles offers monthly memberships for adults and juniors with no lengthy contracts, no joining fees, no annual subscriptions and a free personal training session.

Councillor Bryony Rudkin, the Council's Culture & Leisure portfolio-holder, said: "We want to offer our customers a flexible and value-for-money service. Profiles offers just that - both in the centre of town and in three Ipswich communities. We know people's circumstances can change and we don't want to lock them into a contract that does not suit them. At Profiles there are no hidden charges and no lengthy contracts. To help people on their way, we also offer an optional fitness review every 12 weeks."

Currently, the Council is offering a one-month free membership of Profiles if you pay for two months and sign up before the end of February.

The OFT is expected to announce that it will outlaw contracts that last longer than 12 months or do not contain a get-out clause for members. This follows a probe into contracts at a number of gyms. Profiles was not part of the investigation.
