Annual Wolsey Lecture reflects on Cardinal’s portrayal

Wolsey, who was Henry VIII’s Chancellor, has fascinated scholars and TV viewers alike in various adaptations and on Friday 15th June Dr Gavin Schwartz-Leeper turns the spotlight on to his characterisations, where they come from and why they retain such power.

This is the latest annual Wolsey Lecture, which were inaugurated by the late Dr John Blatchly.

Dr Schwartz-Leeper, Director of Student Experience (Liberal Arts) at the University of Warwick, has published and taught on a range of topics, and his first book, From Princes to Pages, focused on literary representations of Wolsey.

The free lecture is at 6pm on Friday 15th June at the University’s Waterfront Building (registrations from 5.30pm). Book your place.
