Plans for the next stage of work at Ipswich Borough Council’s Eastern Gateway enterprise park at Sproughton has been given the go-ahead.
Babergh’s planning committee has approved outline plans for more development at the site following work getting under way on a unit for food distributor LDH (La Doria). In addition the Borough’s contractors, Balfour Beatty, are undertaking infrastructure work in another part of the site.
Borough Council Leader David Ellesmere visited the site this week said: “We are making good progress at Eastern Gateway creating the first phase of infrastructure necessary to build out this key site. We already have LDH (La Doria) developing its own part of the site and we look forward to welcoming more companies in order to bring greater prosperity and jobs to the Ipswich area.”
Tom Farley, Balfour Beatty Project Manager, said: “We are really pleased to have begun construction on site. Through the Scape National Civil Engineering and Infrastructure framework, we will help to facilitate development in the local area for Ipswich Borough Council and the local community alike.”
