Warning message

We’re asking Ipswich residents to put their bins out the night before their scheduled collection during this extra hot weather so crews can start a little earlier and stagger their rounds, avoiding the hottest part of the day (mid-afternoon). We appreciate your cooperation.

Area Committees explained

You are here

Area Committees give you the chance to influence Council decision making, share your opinion and contribute to positive changes in your neighbourhood. As a resident of Ipswich, this is your opportunity to say what you would like to see improved.

You can find out what’s going on in your area by selecting the marker for your area on the map below and clicking the second link in the pop-up dialogue box.

Ipswich is divided into five areas, and each of those areas are split into wards. There are three councillors per ward, representing you, a resident of that area. Councillors work with residents, businesses and community groups at these public meetings to discuss how money can be spent and how the area can be improved.

Use the interactive map below to find details of your local councillors, your next Area Committee meeting and find out which ward you live in. Agendas are released a week before each meeting.

You can also download the papers and minutes for previous and upcoming meetings on your smartphone or tablet with the Mod.Gov app:
