Art talks by John Sheeran

Published2nd March 2015

Leading art historian John Sheeran’s new programme of talks gets under way on Wednesday 25th March at Ipswich Film Theatre.

John has been attracting big audiences to the Corn Exchange with a series of talks on great painters; in his new monthly series he draws attention to “Great Cities of Art”.

Framlingham-based John said: “I shall be showing my favourite places to visit in each city and will explore the great masterpieces of painting, sculpture and architecture to be found there. But a key purpose of the talks is to encourage people to visit the cities for themselves, so they can experience the visual, emotional and intellectual stimulation of great artworks.”

The talks cost £10 (with a £1 booking fee) and are available from Ipswich Borough Council’s entertainments box office, tel: 01473 433100, or on the day in the Film Theatre.

The talks start at 10.30am and go on until noon. Venice is followed by Paris, Madrid and Rome but to find out about these eight wonders of the art world go to www.johnsheeran.com
