Ipswich Borough Council runs a comprehensive and exciting sports and fitness programme that is focussed on improving the lives of local people through a wide range of sports and activities. We operate 3 sports centres, 2 swimming pools, 5 gyms and deliver over 90 fitness classes a week, as well as the largest swimming lesson programme in the area. We also work closely with local partners to manage and deliver health and physical activity programmes. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the day to day operation of our sports centres and swimming pools. This is an exciting role that offers variety on a daily basis, with opportunities for the successful individual to gain experience in busy sports and leisure environments.
These posts will be subject to a full Enhanced Disclosure.
Day to day
You are responsible for the supervision and the efficient day-to-day operation of the sports facilities, maintaining the highest standards of customer care and service whilst ensuring the Health and Safety of customers and staff. You will also be responsible for key tasks in managing the sports facilities.
You will have had previous experience in supervising or managing a facility. We are looking for an individual that is passionate about sport and leisure, has excellent customer service skills and can motivate and lead a dynamic team.
