Main Purpose of Job
To manage a team of Benefit Officers assessing, calculating and paying claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction within the Shared Revenues Partnership reporting directly to the Shared Services Benefits Manager.
Day to day
You will be responsible for managing a team of Benefit Officers, within a performance management culture. It is essential that you are able to analyse, interpret and apply legislation and statutory requirements and decide application of these in difficult cases. You will act as first point of contact for queries of a complex nature providing advice and guidance as required.
Educated to A-level standard or demonstrable equivalent experience. Full or part IRRV qualification will be an advantage but is not essential.
