'Birds by Barge' river cruises get you close to nature

Published2nd October 2015

A series of bird watching river cruises have been arranged to help people discover the rich and varied bird life that over-winter on our local rivers.

The historic sailing barge Victor, a regular sight running public cruises on the Orwell and Stour in the summer months, is offering cruises throughout November, December and January to experience one of East Anglia’s finest wildlife spectacles and see thousands of birds on a magnificent river estuary.

Professional ornithologists and bird spotters will be on hand to point out species and provide an informative commentary. The cruises also include a hearty “cooked breakfast in a roll” and supplies of hot drinks. Each cruise lasts for four hours and costs just £42.50 per person (including breakfast and hot drinks).
