Charity garden for older people

Published7th May 2017

Ipswich-based charity ActivLives is launching its Garden for Older People on Thursday 18th May in Chantry Park during Dementia Awareness Week.

The garden, at ActivLives Chantry Walled Garden, is the result of many hours hard work by volunteers of the project. The official launch will be at noon.

It is especially designed to enable older people who may be wheelchair-bound with conditions such as dementia to get active in an outdoor community setting, with opportunities to have a chat with other local people, make friends and share their skills and ideas.

There will be an opportunity to buy good quality shrubs, perennials and bedding plants, as well as garden-ready vegetable plants. There will also be tea and homemade cakes so you can relax and enjoy this special garden.
