Covid-19: Get help with your Council Tax

We understand that in these challenging times many people might find keeping up with their Council Tax payments particularly challenging. Extra help is available.

COVID-19 Hardship Fund

If you are currently in receipt of working age Local Council Tax support, you will receive additional relief of up to £150 from the Covid-19 Hardship Fund. You do not need to apply for this, it will automatically be applied to your account. We have sent letters to all eligible households.

If you do not already receive this support but your income has reduced as a result of coronavirus you may be eligible. Use our calculator to find out if you qualify and make a claim. If you qualify, you will also receive additional relief of up to £150 from the Hardship Fund. You do not need to apply for this, it will automatically be applied to your account at the time your Council Tax Reduction is awarded.

Spread your payments

To make your bill more affordable during this difficult time you can change your payment plan from 10 to 12 monthly instalments.

You can request to change your payment plan online.

Change your direct debit

You can change when your direct debit comes out. Select whether you want to pay on the 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd of the month.

You can amend your existing Direct Debit arrangement online.
