Crown car park closed

Published23rd May 2017

Ipswich’s Crown car park has closed to allow preparation work to begin on a new multi-storey car park.

The Borough Council plans to replace the current surface car park with a 546-space car park, which is set to open early next year.

However, around 60 of the car parking spaces should be ready to use before Christmas.

A Council spokesman advised motorists to use other Council-run car parks, which offer good value. “We apologise for any inconvenience during the closure of Crown but we do have other car parks at Portman Road, Elm Street and the Regent car park at the bottom of Woodbridge Road. Motorists should shop around and not pay excessive tariffs.”
