Smash-hit musical Sunset Boulevard is coming to the Regent Theatre in Ipswich next spring … and an extra special celebrity today joined the cast.
The compelling tale of romance and obsession, with a stunning score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, stars Ria Jones, who won ovations every night for her performances in the West End, and now Strictly sensation Danny Mac.
The magical musical comes to the Regent stage from 5th March to 10th March next year.
If you don’t know the story of Sunset Boulevard, it is about a faded silent screen movie goddess, Norma Desmond (Ria Jones) living in a fantasy world. An impoverished screenwriter (Danny Mac) becomes entrapped in a claustrophobic world until his love for another woman leads him to try to break free, with dramatic consequences.
Danny won hearts and plaudits last year on BBC’s Strictly, making it all the way to the final. He recently starred as Gabey in On The Town at the Regent Park open air theatre.
With its much-loved score (including Sunset Boulevard, With One Look, The Greatest Star of All and The Perfect Year) this production promises to be a spectacular occasion.
