Families go wild in Ipswich park

Published30th July 2015

A really wild time was had by all at Holywells Park yesterday as the Borough Council kicked off another series of Family Fun Days.

Families flocked to Myrtle Meadow to take part in bug hunts led by Suffolk Wildlife Trust, pond dipping with the Park Rangers and even building homes for animals with the Greenways Countryside Project. Many children also had their faces painted as their favourite animals.

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary had a spectacular display of a tawny owl, common buzzard and a peregrine falcon - the fastest animal on the planet.

Holywells Family Fun Days will be held every Wednesday over the summer holidays. Upcoming events include:

  • Family Fun Day - 5th August
  • Active Fun Day - 12th August
  • Petting Zoo Fun Day - 19th August
  • Movie Fun Day - 26th August

All take place from noon - 4pm and entrance is free. Free car parking is available at Cliff Lane Primary School.
