First World War exhibition and ANZAC parade

Published16th April 2015

A major First World War exhibition gets under way in Ipswich next week.

The free event at the Corn Exchange is part of a series of commemoration events being organised by the Borough Council and its partners. These began last year to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the conflict.

It is being held from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th April (from 10am) and will feature rare unseen exhibits of local and private collections, military hardware, medals, photographs and letters from the Front. Experts will be on hand to advise on ways of finding war records and to explain about memorabilia.

The event will include an ANZAC parade with Sunday service at St Mary-le-Tower Church at 3pm and guided tours.

A charity dinner at the Corn Exchange with eminent military historian Taff Gillingham has already sold out.
