Ipswich’s Fore Street car park has reopened after resurfacing work to make it safer for customers, the Borough Council has reported.
The Council is also undertaking resurfacing work in the small Portman Road car park (near the Sir Alf Ramsey statue) but this has only affected some bays until it is fully closed for one day on Friday 29th June.
Customers are advised to park in the other Borough car parks over the road on that day – there are more free spaces on Friday than at other times during the week.
The Portman Road extension car park (near the junction with Princes Street) will be closed for improvements for one week between Friday 13th July and Friday 20th July but will be partially closed on Tuesday 3rd July. Again, customers will be sign-posted to the main Portman Road car parks.
A Council spokesman said: “We want to offer a better parking experience to our customers and this work will be done as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience while the work is going on but we do have alternative parking close by.”
