Some of East Anglia’s finest artists are exhibiting their work in Ipswich’s Tourist Information Centre (TIC) over the summer.
The four shows – Flora, Sermo, Costa and Terra (Latin for Flower, Word, Coast and Land) – will include paintings, ceramics, sculpture and stained glass and works will be for sale.
The Art at the Altar project is the first series of pop-up exhibitions organised by We Create Projects Ltd and is being curated by its founder, Iona Hodgson.
Flora is being shown at the TIC in St Stephen’s Church from 13th to 18th August and features work based on a celebration of colour; Sermo is on next, 20th to 25th August, a stunning display of contemporary work featuring type and text; Costa’s picturesque coastal and estuary-based art works can be seen from 27th August to 1st September; while Terra is dedicated to the natural environment.
Each Art at the Altar show will have its own launch on Tuesdays 14th, 21st, 28th August and 4th September at 5.30pm until 7.30pm. These are an opportunity for the public to meet the artists and be among the first to see their works on display.
The TIC is open Mondays to Saturdays 9.30am to 5pm.
