Have you lost your head?

Council chiefs are puzzled by the sudden appearance of a terracotta head in a town centre churchyard.

The head was discovered lying on a tomb by a local shop-keeper in St Lawrence’s Churchyard but no one knows how it got there.

The Borough’s Senior Conservation Officer, Gail Broom, thinks the head is around 100 years old. “It wouldn’t have fallen off the church as it is not broken but we have no idea where it came from. If anyone can give us a heads up on its owner we would be very grateful so it can be returned.”

The terracotta head was taken to the Tourist Information Centre in nearby St Stephen’s Church, where it will remain until any facts come to light.
