Holywells fun day

Published26th July 2017

It was a fun-packed afternoon at Ipswich’s Holywells Park as the Borough Council and its partners kicked off the first family fun day of the summer.

A large crowd turned up to take part in bug hunts and donkey rides and also toured displays, including one by the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary.

A Council spokesman said: "We were delighted to see so many people here – a spot of rain did not dampen the spirits at all. We had a lot of attractions on offer and want to thank the Friends of Holywells Park, the Rangers, volunteers and others for playing such a big part in making this day a success. Next Wednesday we’ve got a free family day at the movies as the cinema comes to Holywells.”

The day was extra special as staff, the public, volunteers and Friends all helped to unveil the park’s Green Flag – the seventh time Holywells has won this coveted national award.
