The Offshoot Foundation, a registered charity based in Suffolk, supports disadvantaged young people with Film-Making workshops that also help develop confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills.

The workshop, taking place on the 22 January between 10am and 3pm, is aimed at young people aged 9+ who can learn about the basics of filmmaking and are designed to empower and inspire young people to develop life skills and raise aspirations by using creative media to reach their full potential.

Councillor Bryony Rudkin, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Communities and Sport, says: “By funding this workshop we’re able to provide a free learning opportunity for young, disadvantaged people to gain new skills and experiences that will be of benefit in the future.

We believe these opportunities help young people overcome barriers to achieving their education, and future employment, goals.

Paul Press, The Offshoot Foundation, CEO, says:

The Offshoot Foundation have helped countless young people into jobs in the Film, TV, and Games industry, and are excited about being able to offer young people in Ipswich their first steps to imagining a career in this area of work.
