Helen Pluck
Helen was appointed as Chief Executive in early 2023, having been the Deputy Chief Executive since 2012. She works in partnership with the Council Leader to ensure that the Council delivers for the people of Ipswich.
Prior to joining Ipswich Borough Council Helen held senior roles at Stockton Borough Council, the Audit Commission and in consultancy. She began her career as a Librarian and has more recently become a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
During her time at Ipswich, she has also been the Managing Director for the Council’s commercial companies, and was responsible for our pandemic response.
Helen is the Suffolk lead on Waste and Resilience. She is passionate about enabling Ipswich to achieve its potential and is focused on ensuring that Ipswich secures the best outcomes from devolution and local government reorganisation.
