Ipswich Lettings Partnership has been developed by Ipswich Borough Council to increase access to good quality homes in the private rented sector for anyone living in Ipswich.  It provides a professional, committed, and free service to private sector landlords with property available to rent in Ipswich.

The Ipswich Lettings Partnership works with over 70 letting agents and over 60 private landlords across Ipswich. Since its inception in 2013 it has secured more than 90 tenancies. 

Deposit Bond Scheme

Instead of a traditional cash deposit, the Council will sign a written agreement with the landlord and tenant guaranteeing the deposit amount, this does not have to be registered in a tenancy deposit scheme and behaves the same way as a cash deposit. It can be claimed against up to the value of the bond. The deposit will last for the life of the tenancy.

Landlord Offer 

If you are a Private Sector landlord or agent and would like the Ipswich Lettings Partnership to help you find a suitable tenant we can offer you the following service free of charge:

  • Tenant Finding Service – all prospective tenants will have been Experian credit checked by ourselves, a full affordability assessment will have been undertaken, and previous landlord references taken
  • Initial property inspection and advice on legal requirements.
  • Right to Rent check 
  • Inventory service with photographs and meter readings
  • Regular inspections
  • Dedicated single point of contact
  • Information and advice throughout the tenancy including updates with changes to legislation affecting landlords.

Once a referral has been made to The Ipswich Lettings Partnership we may be able to assist you in the following ways: 

  • Assistance and advice for tenants to meet upfront costs attached to securing a property

- Administration fees
- Deposit (bond)
- Rent in advance

  • Assistance and advice with Discretionary Housing Payment applications
  • Introduce you to landlords with suitable properties and offer you advice on renting privately
  • Tenant liaison service: dedicated point of contact for your tenancy, support to maintain your tenancy, advice and assistance throughout your tenancy
