Ipswich Tree Week 14th - 26th February

You are here

The two weeks of events are scheduled to take place from 14th – 26th February, and therefore include half-term holidays. Events will help celebrate National Bird Box Week and Ipswich Tree Week.

The programme of events will start on Ipswich Loves Trees Day (14th February – Valentine’s Day) with the planting of an experimental Foxglove Tree (Paulownia Tomentosa) in Christchurch Park.

Recent research suggests this is the best tree to plant for carbon sequestration. It is being trialled in Suffolk and Norfolk by the Forestry Commission at the moment. Read more.

Times and locations of each event are below, all equipment will be provided and each event is free to attend.

Dress accordingly to the weather.
