Ipswich Wheels, tributes and some brass

The Ipswich summer just got better – with the rolling out of even more events to keep the sun shining on Suffolk’s county town.

The Borough Council’s events team are preparing for IPSWICH WHEELS 2017 on Sunday 30th July (10am to 5pm).

In the beautiful setting of Chantry Park, Ipswich Wheels celebrates all wheeled motion through the ages from the classics to modern vehicles.

Ipswich Wheels is a show for all ages with fantastic displays, top class stunt acts in the main arena, fun fair and stalls.

Admission on the gate: £2.50 adults, children under 14 free. 10am to 5pm.

Before that, on Saturday 22nd July, the FAKE FESTIVAL is on in Christchurch Park. A superb line-up of tribute acts, The Jam, Oasis and Queen as well as local support acts. Book now and get your singing voice ready so you can join in the fun inside a giant marquee. 12.30pm to 11pm.

BRASS ON THE GRASS is under way on Sunday afternoons in the Upper Arboretum in Christchurch Park The Boxted Silver Band play on Sunday 23rd July, followed by the Colchester Band on 30th July. Ipswich Hospital Band rounds things off on Sunday 6th August.

Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th and Sunday 5th August sees OUTDOOR CINEMA CLUB in Holywells Park. Come along and see ET on Throwback Thursday, Jaws on Fright Night Friday and Dirty Dancing on Singalong Saturday. Brought to the park’s Myrtle Meadow by Pop Up Pictures.

Ipswich Borough Council’s Deputy Leader, Bryony Rudkin, said: “There is so much going on in an Ipswich summer – films, theatre, festivals, great music and entertainment. There is something for people to celebrate all summer long.”
