Kurling keeps them Activ!

Published11th October 2017

More than 50 people took part in the latest ActivIpswich kurling competition at Whitton Sports Centre.

The sport is growing in popularity in Ipswich thanks to a programme being delivered by ActivLives in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council and funded by Sport England and the National Lottery.

“ActivIpswich is for people over 45 who are not currently involved in regular sport or physical activity,” said project manager Mike McCarthy. “Many of our regulars are in their 60s, 70s and even 80s and it is brilliant to see so many people getting involved in social sport.”

Kurling is just one of the sports making up the ActivIpswich programme – others include badminton, table tennis, bowls, boccia, short tennis, archery and walking football.
