The opportunity

If you like variety, you’ll love this role. You will have the opportunity to gain marketing experience in a range of sectors, which could include anything from sports and leisure to events. You'll play a key role in executing the marketing strategy for each of your allocated areas (as well as the strategy for the Council as a whole) and will really get the chance to showcase what you can do.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive Communications & Marketing team at Ipswich Borough Council. Here you will have the opportunity to work alongside a talented team of graphic designers, marketing professionals and digital communications specialists. Working closely with the team and key contacts from around the Council, you'll get the chance to develop your ability across a range of marketing channels, including email, social, web and print.

What are we looking for from you?

A genuine passion for marketing is essential, as are great organisational skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.

You will have 2 years qualitative experience in this field or hold a relevant qualification as per the person specification. You will also show evidence of continuing your professional development. Social media marketing will be a major aspect of the role, so your application should include information about your experience in this area.

We're looking for someone creative and proactive, with a great work ethic and the ability to deliver work to deadline in a fast-paced environment. A flair for writing engaging and persuasive, yet concise copy is also key, as is a keen attention to detail.
