More Than Mum

Published3rd April 2018

A programme for young mothers in north-east Ipswich has been so successful it will be launching in the centre of the town.

More Than Mum is designed to support young mothers who might have lost confidence to get back into work, education or training or to simply work out their next steps.

The programme is the brainchild of Kim Trotter, MD of Future Female Society. Kim will be starting the new More Than Mum sessions in Westgate and Alexandra wards.

Sessions are free for participants and are open for any mother aged between 16 and 30.

Organiser Kim Trotter, MD of Future Female Society, said: "Being a young mum can be a lonely and isolating experience, it is easy to lose confidence and feel that you can't access or achieve. This programme raises aspiration and gives the mums the confidence to go onto work, education, volunteering or training. It changes peoples lives for the better which also has an impact on the lives of their children and families. We are very excited to be able to offer this programme in the centre of town."
