New car park opens in Ipswich town centre

Published18th September 2020

A new short-stay car park has opened on Ipswich’s Upper Orwell Street.

Upper Orwell Street (North) has 52 spaces, plus three for disabled motorists and four motorcycle bays. EV charging will be made available shortly.

Tariffs for the new car park are £1.30 an hour and £2 after 2pm (Monday to Friday).

Visitors can pay to park from their car with the MiPermit app – available in all Ipswich Borough Council car parks. Card and cash payments are also available.

The opening of this car park will also see a temporary four week closure of the Upper Orwell Street (South) car park as it undergoes scheduled maintenance.
