Ipswich Buses has announced the appointment of Heath Williams as its new Managing Director.
Mr Williams replaces the company’s interim Managing Director, Rob Bellamy, who has led the company since December 2016. Mr Bellamy has led the company through a full review of its network and fare structures, secured investment in the fleet, introduced contactless payments and a new company website.
Mr Williams has been in the UK bus industry since the early 1980s and has held director-level roles with Stagecoach and Arriva for some 20 years, while overseeing commercial and contracted bus and coach operations in Wales, Lancashire, London and the Home Counties.
The Chair of Ipswich Buses Board, Chris Mole, said: “We are immensely grateful to Rob for all he has done over the last 18 months to improve our operation. But his tenure was always on an interim basis and I am delighted that we have secured someone with as much experience as Heath has as our new Managing Director. I know that under his leadership the company will continue to go from strength to strength.”
