New play area to open at Holywells Park Saturday 8 April

Published6th April 2023

A new children’s play area will officially be opened in Holywells Park on Saturday 8 April at 12 noon.

The new play area named Imagination Island has been designed to create a connection with water in the park.

Imagination Island is exactly that, a safe space for children to let their imaginations run free.

The park sees a variety of exciting play equipment including Croc Creek bridge, where you can cross the wetpour water whilst avoiding the 3D crocodile, ride on dolphin and shark springers, or you can even jump on the DiGBY the octopus seesaw!

The new inclusive facilities are part of Ipswich Borough Council’s Play Area Strategy, which sets out to improve 45 play areas across Ipswich, with Holywells the third to be completed.

A spokesperson for Ipswich Borough Council says: “It’s fantastic to see the new park opening over the Easter weekend, giving children the opportunity to visit during the school holidays.

This is the third new park created in Ipswich as part of our Play Area Strategy, allowing children of all ages and abilities to have fun in a safe and colourful environment.”
