One month to go until Ipswich Regent Theatre’s Christmas Panto

Published17th November 2021

Ipswich Regent Theatre and Enchanted Entertainment are bringing their Christmas pantomime, Aladdin, to Ipswich next month and tickets are selling quickly - oh yes they are!

From the same team behind the 2019 Christmas production of Cinderella, Aladdin will be a spectacular festive treat not to be missed. Laugh at dotty Widow Twankey, boo and hiss the evil Abanazar and cheer on our hero Aladdin who, with one rub of his magic lamp, meets the most amazing Genie.

Packed with great songs, amazing dance routines and plenty of laughter, this is a tremendous treat for all the family you won’t want to miss. Limited £14 tickets are available for every performance, so book early for the best seats at the best prices.

Heading to Ipswich on a magic carpet will be Home and Away actor Nic Westaway as Aladdin, X-Factor star Marcus Collins as Genie and Selena Brown making her professional debut as Princess Jasmine.

The Regent Theatre is welcoming back comedian and Ipswich panto favourite Mike Mclean as Wishee Washee. Other cast include Emily Galvin as Spirit of the Ring, Darren Machin as Widow Twankey, Andrew Goddard as Abanazar and Glyn Dilley as Emperor.

Aladdin opens at the Regent on Friday 17 December 2021 and runs until Sunday 2 January 2022. Tickets are flying out the door with the best availability between 21 and 24 December.

Enchanted Entertainment producer Guy Pascall said: “Panto is going to be back with a bang at Ipswich this December! The creative team at Enchanted Entertainment are planning a dazzling show at the Regent Theatre and we can’t wait to start rehearsals for Aladdin. Suffolk audiences are in for a visual treat, with a flying carpet, a magic lamp and the most outrageous Genie, played by singing sensation and X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins. This year’s show will be full of side-splitting comedy routines, provided by everyone's favourite panto comic Mike McClean, as well as high-octane dance numbers and one of the most talented panto casts in the country”.

Councillor Sarah Barber, Ipswich Borough Council’s portfolio holder for the town centre, said: “It brings me great joy to see the return of the Regent Theatre’s popular Christmas pantomime, which will no doubt be another successful production with our panto partners Enchanted Entertainment. It will be wonderful to welcome so many of our regular panto customers back and we hope to see some new customers joining in too!”

Come and join in the festive fun as the Regent Theatre and Enchanted Entertainment bring one of the world’s best loved pantomimes to life.
