Ipswich’s Christchurch Park has won a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2015.

The award comes after hundreds of visitors praised the park on the leading customer review website.

Three of the latest comments included: “A beautiful park to walk around with different flowers to see. There is a big pond and lots of seats. The Mansion is very interesting. There are tennis courts that you can sit and watch the players.”

“This is a glorious park close to the centre of the town. I always enjoy walking through it, because it is such a peaceful area, and the wildlife is always exciting.”

“A large park in the centre of Ipswich. Great for children. Plenty of seating. A nice clean park. Visit the Tudor mansion museum while you are there.”

Councillor Phil Smart, in charge of parks at Ipswich Borough Council, said: “Millions of people across the UK – and beyond – use TripAdvisor both to leave comments and to review where to visit. We are immensely proud of this achievement, which is testament to our staff and the Friends groups who help to make Christchurch Park and Mansion such a magnet for visitors.”

The award citation reads: "TripAdvisor is delighted to award Christchurch Park the 2015 Certificate of Excellence. This achievement is a direct result of your consistently great reviews from TripAdvisor travellers."
