As a record number of hopefuls bid to win the 2015 Ipswich Has Got Talent competition, Just Jay Dance, last year’s winners, have been going from strength to strength since securing the title.

The dance and singing group from Ipswich were approached by the Britain's Got Talent  scouting team to audition for the national TV programme and they have been performing at various local and regional events throughout the past 12 months. They are about to present their first "Poptastic” event at Woodbridge’s Seckford Theatre this weekend.

This year,  Ipswich Has Got Talent received record number of applications to take part in the annual event aimed at showcasing local talent.

Jay Austin, of Just Jay Dance, recalls the 2014 final at the Regent Theatre. “It was an amazing opportunity. The children that I teach that were able to come and, hopefully, got the inspiration to perform. Being the first dance troupe to win meant so much as well and Ipswich Has Got Talent gave us the buzz to carry on doing what we do best and planning for our own show.”

The dance troupe are also set to support Ipswich band, Diamond, who were finalists last year. Diamond's “Stand Up To Cancer” concert takes place at Ipswich Corn Exchange on 3rd October.

The final of Ipswich Has Got Talent 2015 will take place at the Regent on 13th November.
