Recyclers smash glass record

Published10th June 2020

We’ll raise a glass to that … Ipswich residents have helped Suffolk to smash the May figure for glass recycling.

A whopping 2,229 tonnes of bottles and jars of all shapes and sizes were put in the county’s bottle banks last month – that’s a fifth of the total over the whole of last year.

So, thank you to our residents who have achieved this. Remember, glass does not go into the blue bin for safety reasons.
