Re-using large items

You are here

If you have items that are still in good condition but you no longer want them there are several options available to you.

Donate to charity

Find out if the Ipswich Furniture Project can re-use your items. They will also collect appliances such as fridges, freezers, cookers and washing machines, free of charge, even if they are not in working order.

Offer your unwanted item on a re-use website

If the item is still in working condition there are websites available for you to advertise your unwanted items. Try www.freecycle.org/ or www.ilovefreegle.org/.

Take your goods to a Household Waste Recycling Centre

Most items can be taken to one of Suffolk County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC). If you have any queries about the items that the HWRC will accept, please contact them on 0345 606 6067.

Book a Bulky Refuse Collection

If your item is no longer in working condition you may want to use the Bulky Refuse Collection Service to dispose of it.
