Ricky at the Regent

Published17th March 2017

Ricky Gervais, one of the true comic legends of stand-up, TV and the big screen, is coming to the Ipswich Regent in September.

Tickets go on sale today (17th March) at 10am for his Humanity tour shows and a theatre spokesman said: “We advise people to hurry – they are not likely to be around for long."

Ricky shot to mainstream fame with The Office but he had already had success in the music world as the manager of Suede before he turned to comedy, co-writing both The Office and hit series Extras.

His Hollywood hits include Ghost Town, The Invention of Lying and Special Correspondents and this is his fifth stand-up tour.

Bryony Rudkin, Borough Council Deputy leader, said: “We’re delighted to welcome both shows to the Regent – we do get some of the biggest names in comedy here, such as Jimmy Carr, Russell Brand and now Ricky Gervais.”

Tickets for the Regent shows on Monday 4th September and Tuesday 5th September cost £30.50 and £33 (includes a booking fee). Suitable for 16-plus – maximum of six tickets per person.
