Right to Buy - home purchase scheme

You are here

Under the Right to Buy scheme, you can buy your home at a price lower than the full market value. This is because the length of time you have spent as a tenant entitles you to a discount

You can contact the Council’s Right to Buy team via email: righttobuy@ipswich.gov.uk or by phoning: 01473 432000.

Visit the Department for Communities and Local Government website for comprehensive information on the Right to Buy scheme.

The government Right to Buy Agency can also be contacted at: 0300 123 0913 for free advice and information.

If you are thinking of applying for your Right to Buy, you should get independent legal and financial advice about your individual circumstances and to help with the legal process of buying a home. You should also get independent financial advice about the different types of mortgage that are available.

Please use this form if you are a council or housing association tenant and wish to purchase your home under the Right to Buy or Preserved Right to Buy schemes.

You can find more information in our Right to Buy guide.
