Ipswich’s bin crews battled through their rounds today despite the traffic congestion caused by the Orwell Bridge closure during Storm Gareth.
All brown bins have been collected but if your black bin was missed please leave it out and they will be collected tomorrow.
A Borough Council spokesman said: “Some black bins in St Helen’s Street, Argyle Street, Lacey Street, Palmerston Road, Bell Close and Finchley Road areas were missed. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
Highways England was reopening the Orwell Bridge this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Council’s parks team re-opened the town’s main parks, which had remained closed during the strongest winds.
