Award-winning producer Ellen Kent brings one of the world’s best loved operas, Madama Butterfly, to Ipswich’s Regent Theatre this weekend.

This is a star-studded production, featuring internationally celebrated soloists, chorus and full orchestra.

Leading soprano Maria HeeJung Kim, from the Korean National Opera in Seoul, plays the title role in Puccini’s classic. This opera, which is on stage on Sunday 25th March at 7.30pm, tells the heart-breaking story of the beautiful young Japanese girl who falls in love with an American naval lieutenant – with dramatic results.

Among the many highlights are the moving aria One Fine Day, the Humming Chorus and the unforgettable Love Duet.

With exquisite sets, including a spectacular Japanese garden, Madama Butterfly will captivate the audience.

The opera will be conducted by Vasyl Vasylenko, the artistic director and conductor at the National President's Orchestra of Ukraine, and played by 30 members of the National Ukrainian Orchestra.

Award-winning Ellen Kent is the producer of Opera & Ballet International and has been the biggest supplier of opera and ballet in the UK for 26 years.
