Sunset Boulevard comes to the Regent

Published25th May 2017

Smash-hit musical Sunset Boulevard is coming to the Regent Theatre in Ipswich.

The compelling tale of romance and obsession, with a stunning score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, stars Ria Jones, who won ovations every night for her performances in the West End.

The magical musical comes to the Regent stage from 5th March to 10th March next year but you can take advantage of an Early Birds 10% off tickets offer if you book by 30th June (Monday to Thursday performances).

Tickets are now on sale. Box office: www.ipswichregent.com or 01473 433100.

If you don’t know the story of Sunset Boulevard, it is about a faded silent screen movie goddess, Norma Desmond (Jones) living in a fantasy world. An impoverished screen-writer becomes entrapped in a claustrophobic world until his love for another woman leads him to try to break free, with dramatic consequences.

With its much-loved score (including Sunset Boulevard, With One Look, The Greatest Star of All and The Perfect Year) this production promises to be a spectacular occasion.

James Fairclough, Head of Culture at Ipswich Borough Council, said: “This is another fantastic treat for Regent audiences from across the region. I am confident Sunset Boulevard will be another big hit and underlines the fact that you come to the Ipswich Regent if you want to enjoy the best shows in East Anglia.”
