Ipswich Borough Council runs a comprehensive and exciting sports and fitness programme that is focused on improving the lives of local people through a wide range of sports and activities. We operate three sports centres, two swimming pools, five gyms and deliver over 85 fitness classes a week, as well as the largest swim lesson programme in the area. We also work closely with local partners to manage and deliver health and physical activity programme. We are looking to recruit a Swimming Team Leader to supervise, support and deliver on our extensive swimming lesson programme. This is an exciting role where you get the chance to work in a customer facing environment and help develop a programme that provides life skills to young people across Ipswich and beyond. You will have the chance to influence and develop the programme along with managing a team of experienced and friendly swimming teachers.

Day to day:
This role will be supporting the delivery and development of our extensive swimming lesson programme as well as managing a team of experienced and dynamic teachers.
You will be educated to 1 A Level or 5 GCSE’s or an NVQ Level 3 or 2 years qualitative experience and have Level 2 Practical/Theory Teachers Amateur Swimming Association (ASA)/ Institute of Swimming (IOS) qualification certificate also have Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) Rescue Test for Teaches & Coaches of Swimming Certificate (or willing to work towards qualification).
