Tea time at garden project

Published4th May 2016

ActivGardens in Ipswich will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday at its community event at the CRESS Pavilion in Halifax Road on Friday 13th May, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

The café will be serving cream teas especially for the occasion as well as light lunches made with fresh produce from the People’s Community Garden.

There will also be information about the PLANTS training project at the CRESS Pavilion. Led by Lime Skills and funded by the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, this new opportunity will train people to work in care or hospitality.

ActivSheds men’s DIY project will be showcasing what they have been making in their newly renovated shed, while Maidenhall Residents’ Association and other community groups will be offering their wares for sale, too.

ActivGardens needs volunteers to help through the busy season – please get in touch if you can help. They welcome beginners and those who would like to learn new skills but also need experienced gardeners to help with a range of tasks - both at the People’s Community Garden, near the CRESS Pavilion, and Chantry Walled Garden in Chantry Park. Call 01473 345350 if you’d like to lend a hand.
