Published10th March 2022

Many local employers will be present to talk to those seeking or looking to change jobs at the Ipswich Jobs and Careers Fair at the Town Hall and Cornhill, Ipswich between 10 am and 1 pm on Wednesday 16 March. The Department of Work and Pensions have been told by attending employers that there will be a combined total of approximately one thousand jobs available at the Fair.

45 employers will be represented, including Sizewell C/EDF, Centre Parcs, Willis, Sainsbury’s, Orwell Housing, Ipswich Borough Council and Anglia Water.

Attendees can meet employers, learn what it is like to work in different industries and services, find current vacancies and discover training opportunities.

The event is open to all, free of charge and is organised by Ipswich Borough Council and the Department of Work and Pensions.

Cllr David Ellesmere, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council, says:

“Ipswich Jobs and Careers Fair has helped many in the past obtain employment. These jobs have ranged from those who may have been out of work for some time or not have previously worked through to those working and who are looking to switch employer.

“I am pleased we again arranging this event with the Department of Work and Pensions and I look forward to hearing about many job successes this year.”

Chris Knights, Operational Leader for Suffolk Jobcentre Plus, says:

“Jobcentre Plus are delighted to be partnering with Ipswich Borough Council for the fifth time for the Jobs & Careers Fair 2022. There will be over 40 exhibitors with a good range of employers in attendance. This is a fantastic opportunity for employers to quickly and easily fill their vacancies and for jobseekers to speak directly to employers or access support to enable them to move into employment. I would encourage everyone to attend this event as there is something on offer for everyone.”
