The steps make access to the hill easier and help preserve wildlife habitats on other parts of the tump. Greenways have also constructed a path around the bottom which leads from Ravenswood to the Orwell Country Park.
The new steps were funded by the Ravenswood Fund, now administered by the South East Area Committee.
