Town Hall open day

Published29th January 2018

More than 250 people flocked to Ipswich Town Hall for an anniversary open day.

Sunday was the 150th birthday of one of Ipswich's most iconic buildings and members of the public enjoyed tours of the Mayor's Parlour, exhibitions and just having a look around. There was even a special birthday cake.

The open day kicked off a year of activities to celebrate a building that was opened in 1868 by the Mayor, John Patteson Cobbold.

Later in the year, tea dances, guided walks, a Teddy Bear’s picnic and digitalised story-telling sessions are all planned.
