Two Ipswich parks win Green Flags

Published19th July 2017

Two Ipswich parks have again been awarded Green Flags.

While it is now a magnificent seven for Holywells, Christchurch Park has gone into double figures with 10 annual awards.

The national Green Flag award, which is made by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces in the country.

The Green Flags will be officially unfurled on Wednesday 26th July – at noon at Christchurch Park, while Holywells Park will do the honours during its first family fun day at 1pm.

Councillor Philip Smart, Ipswich Borough Council’s Parks & Open Spaces portfolio-holder, said: “Ipswich has some wonderful parks and open spaces and we work hard to maintain and enhance them. These latest awards show what our staff, Friends groups and volunteers can achieve.”
