Visitors flock to Lego brick Ipswich

More than 3,000 people visited the Ipswich Art Gallery during the week-long Big Lego Ipswich Build that ended on Sunday.

Avid brick builders and visitors hurried along to High Street to see the miniature town take shape, with queues developing yesterday.

The project was held during British Science Week 2018, a celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths.

Families had fun building on three days, while schoolchildren got involved on each week day. Two challenge evenings gave adults an opportunity to get in on the fun, too.

Brickologist Brian Hewitt brought Ipswich landmarks such as the Willis Towers Watson building and Christchurch Mansion to life. Builders also created a miniature Town Hall, Ipswich Museum, Ipswich School and Ipswich Town Football Club.
